During the bus ride back to Naruko, where I live, I could tell that it was gradually getting colder because the mountains on the horizon had an ever increasing amount of snow on them. By the time I arrived at my home it looked like a blizzard. The roads were covered in snow and I could not believe how much snow there was on the sides of the road. It was even worse when I entered my room and opened the sliding doors to the kitchen area. I literally gasped and took a step back when I saw the amount of snow that was piled up at my porch. It had to be about four feet. It seems that it is not going anywhere soon, because it has been snowing on and off steadily since I returned. I have decided to try and enjoy the winter weather as much as I can. I borrowed a gas heater, so I am no longer freezing to death, I bought lots of green tea to drink while I watch the snow fall, and I have decided to stop using my car and take the train to and from work so as not to die. So far so good.
Love the pictures! I wish you could see our snow as well.We have missed 2 days work this week and it's just Wednesday !!!!!
ReplyDeleteI guess the Japanese would rather die in a weather-related accident than postpone work. School and work is never cancelled here. Although, if they did cancel for snow, they would be closed for the entire winter.
ReplyDeleteOh my word!!! I think you are so cute in
ReplyDeletethose pictures even if you are mine!! Please
be careful with the heater!!!
No trouoble figuring out who the anonymous person is, "oh my word" is her trademark phrase. It looks so cold where you are, I dont think I could stand it. Its cold here but only like 30's and 40's and thankfully no snow. Is that Roger covered in snow in the picture? Do try and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteI thought both anonymous comments were from Mom? Am I right? It was 2 degrees in my room when I woke up this morning! That is two degrees away from freezing! I've got to go this weekend and buy some insulation!
ReplyDeleteNo only one is your Mom the second one!!
ReplyDeleteDo you not get to move?? You are going
to freeze to death!! That is ridicous 2
degrees!! I don't think insulation will
help at that point of a degree.
Sorry I spelled ridiculous wrong!! I was
ReplyDeletethinking about how cold you were!!
Dustin, you might be surprised as to who anonymous is.The very first one is Jan and the others are your mother. It's just easier to sign in as anonymous. BTW congratulations!
