Last Day of Training

First thing this morning I went for my first run in Japan. It was nice but the wind was so strong that I was blown off course a couple of times. Also, on the way back the wind was against me and it was like resistance running. I went to Denny's for breakfast again. Luckily, I was there at the same time as some other employees of the company I am working for and I met with them and we decided to go to the supermarket to grab some things since I am going to be in Mito for a few days. I found that the supermarket was quite the experience and fruit is very expensive. A bag of apples was $20 and cheese is extremely expensive. Everything comes in smaller quantities and serving sizes as well. I got some detergent to wash my clothes with in the hotel and some milk and a cheap meal for lunch. On the way back from the supermarket it began to rain and the closer we got to the hotel the more it rained. We all got drenched and by the time I reached my hotel room I had to hang all of my clothes up and blow dry my shoes. I killed some time in my room waiting for the rain to stop but it never did. Then I went for my last training session which was very laid back and short. To celebrate the last day, we all went out to an interesting restaurant that was Australian-British. It was neat because there was an Australian guy and a British guy in our training group as well. I got a cajun chicken burger and fries, which was very good and more familiar than what I have been getting around here lately. Some of the other trainees are shipping out tomorrow but I will be here until Sunday, when I will go to Osaki City to move in and get started. Overall, it has been a really exciting day and I have met some peculiar and interesting characters.

  1. Yay for burgers and the Australians! I have been building a fence all day and been complete dirty for the majority of the day. Its yucky weather here, that misty rain crap, but warm. Went rto see Clad of the Titans... def the worst movie of the year so far! Laptop is fried, so I have no personal computor, but I will use Evan's when I can. Miss you, hope everything is going as you hoped and even better. Every day I always look at the clock...flip the am/pm and try to figure out what you might be doing (its 11am ur time while I am writing this, so I guess your checking out more Mito adventures). Evan just sent me an e-mail... round trip to Tokyo for only $455, wow!
